The Resume Wolf Difference

As Psychologists who work in HR, our two highly experienced resume writers have a long history with recruitment and selection processes both in WA and across the country. This experience ranges from designing the capability frameworks that guide hiring managers to conducting our own recruitment drives as external consultants. Having started writing resumes during his undergraduate years for peers and colleagues, our head writer is also highly experienced in developing CV’s for fresh graduates. 

Admittedly, the resume industry is tricky at times and largely unregulated. While there are many organisations out there that offer “certifications” in resume writing, it is up to the consumer to vet these “authorities” for themselves. That said, both our writers hold Masters Degrees in Applied Organisational Psychology and are full members of the Australian Psychological Society. Choosing the right candidate for the job is more than just checking selection criteria off a list or ensuring minimum qualifications and experience requirements are met. Hiring managers are constantly on the lookout for the best candidate, that one perfect fit who will thrive in the role and bring value to the organisation. They don’t expect to know who this might be from reading a 3 page document, but its how the process starts and we’re here to get you off on the right foot.

Our resumes are crafted in a way that conveys your skills, experience and expertise in a way that is concise, clear, efficient and relevant to the reader. A lot of people make the mistake of thinking that their resume should be focused on themselves, we beg to differ. Your resume is first and foremost a message, in that it has almost no meaning by itself without consideration of a recipient. You are not writing a resume for yourself, you are writing it for a hiring manager. Your resume has only one direct purpose, to grab and hold the attention of whomever is reading it. This is the core tenet of our resume writing service.

Fancy layouts and templates with colours and columns ? No.

We always use best practices in resume drafting and layout which ensures compatibility with all applicant tracking systems (ATS) as well as excellent readability by hiring managers. While we are aware of the myriad fancy templates out there, having multiple columns, colours and non-standard fonts is just going to detract from the hiring process except in certain situations such as applications for creative or design-based positions in which your resume should stand out, just like your portfolio. In all other cases, the ideal resume layout is much more simple and straightforward than you think.

All our resumes are delivered with standard universal fonts and sensible layouts in MS Word document format or PDF if requested. We generally only use word documents as they are the industry standard. You are also free to edit word documents however you wish while PDF files are locked. We will never hold your data hostage or tie you to our service and make you come back to us each time you want to make a small change etc. Your resume you purchased from us is your property and you are free to edit it as much as you want yourself or get someone else to work on it etc. in the future.

First things first, thanks for choosing us ! To start the process, just fill out our order form here. Enter your details, upload your resume or cover letters and let us know your requirements. We will go through your documents and get back to you within 1 business day to let you know how to proceed to make payment. We do this to make sure that we can provide you with a top quality service before we take the job.

Once payment has been made, we will conduct a full analysis of your resume and draft up a questionnaire that is tailored specifically to your document. These questions will generally include requests for information regarding specific areas in your work history / skills etc. We will also ask you to send us links to or screenshots of sample job advertisements that you are interested in applying for so we can further refine your resume. Do allow up to 7 business days to receive your questionnaire.

Once you provide the information requested in our questionnaire, you can sit back and relax while we get on it. The first draft of your resume will be with you within 7 business days after receiving the information although this is usually much quicker.

Let us know if you have any changes or amendments you like made and we’ll get on them. Once you are happy with the document, we will send you the finalised MS Word document and you can leave us a review on google if you want.
